About

Beginning in 1997 yoga helped me to increase energy, manage stress and feel brighter.  I had been looking for a way to regain vitality and good health with two young children.  In 2006, I discovered a yoga that adapted to each individual.  It made a powerful difference because this yoga was a pleasure to practice, a pleasure to stay with and made a deeper, lasting difference.  With this yoga I felt that I was turning back the years and rediscovering a health and well-being I had previously taken for granted.

Finding a yoga that respects each individual and provides them with an appropriate approach, I enrolled in workshops to learn more.  For example, how does this yoga  help bring the mind to the moment for a truly integral breath/yoga which would clear the mind -even in busy and challenging times.  The adaptability of this yoga - according to an individual’s circumstances, energy levels, beliefs and so on -  is what makes it feel suitable, appropriate and relevant.

Following those early years of yoga practice and significant  progress, I  graduated from a registered 200 hour teacher training program for vini yoga (vini is an ancient word meaning appropriate application).  With further study, that 200 hours certification became the 500 hours designation as I continued to learn about yoga and it's application for a well-balanced, health-full life.  I teach yoga because I have been taught a way for yoga practice that safely manages to address the imbalance caused by the stressors in life.  In a world where  the impact of chronic diseases has recently exceeded infectious diseases, it is up to us to find a safe, sustainable way to bring balance, strength, space and ease to our bodies and our mind.

This is a yoga that respects the body and its phases; it encourages ‘relax and repair’ mode; it noticeably improves overall health; and it calms the mind.
